Stirlingcars

In 1490, Leonardo da Vinci drew a vehicle that resembles a car. In 1600, Simon Stevin built a sailboat with wheels. This could transport up to 30 people by harnessing wind energy. In 1649 Hans Hautsch, a blacksmith from Nuremberg, succeeded in making the breakthrough to an automotive vehicle.

His automobile had four wheels and could travel 1.6 km/hour under its own propulsion. In 1816, Robert Stirling patented his Stirling engine. In a nod to history, Böhm manufactures miniature collectors’ models with Stirling engines which run on white spirit.
